IUS and MIBO Komunikacije Sign MoU Linking IT Industry with Academia

MIBO MoU

The representatives of MIBO Komunikacije company paid a visit to the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Thursday, April 27, 2023 and were hosted by the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım and Program Coordinator of Software Engineering study program, Assistant Professor Dr. Özge Büyükdağlı as well as Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Mersni. Considering the fact that the two institutions had previously expressed a desire to work on projects of common interest and to engage in a mutually beneficial relationship, the focal point of today's visit was on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MIBO Komunikacije and IUS.

The MoU aims to establish a framework for cooperation including, but not limited to research and development, student recruitment and academic exchange. This includes collaborating in creating opportunities for IUS students to do their internship, graduation projects and/or start a career at MIBO Komunikacije. IUS has taken on the task of providing academic courses, certifications and degrees for student training programs while MIBO Komunikacije will provide practical training, internship, webinars and summer schools for students and graduates. Moreover, IUS and MIBO Komunikacije will collaborate on research projects which will involve sharing of resources including research facilities, equipment and personnel.

Furthermore, the MoU stipulated that the two institutions will work together to organize events that are of mutual interest, create possibilities for professional development for IUS staff which would include activities that will help them stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies. Finally, the Agreement sets the ground for establishing a valuable link between the University and MIBO Komunikacije, allowing for better collaboration and knowledge sharing and helping to ensure that the University’s curriculum remains relevant and up to date on the latest industry trends.

The implementation of the Agreement shall be conducted through a joint working group which will identify specific projects and activities for collaboration and monitor and evaluate the progress and results of these projects.
