International Research Congress on Social Sciences opened at IUS

International Research Congress on Social Sciences began at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on May 4, 2015. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Kara, Organizational Chair of the Congress from Pamukkale University opened the congress with welcoming speech and emphasized the importance of having cooperation established among experts of different scientific fields. 

After welcoming speech of Prof. Kara, Vice Rector of Pamukkale University, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Özçelik delivered his opening remarks as well. He stressed the importance of linking this region with Turkey and doing research on our common history as well as continuing academics cooperation in different  fields. 

Rector of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu welcomed the audience as well. He wished good luck to all participants of the congress and spoke about the significance of having good connections between academic community of IUS and academic communities in the Republic of Turkey. "I want to congratulate the organizing committee of the International Congress of Social Sciences, renowned professors and researchers from Pamukkale University, Uşak University and the Faculty of Business and Administration at IUS for their involvement in organization of this important scientific meeting. ' - said Rector Oğurlu. 

Honorable keynote speakers at the Congress were Prof. Dr. Ismail Yakit from Akdeniz University and Prof. Dr. Šaćir Filandra, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo. 

After the opening ceremony, first panel sessions began and over one hundred researchers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro took part and delivered their latest scientific research findings and papers. This Congress was an opportunity for more than one hundred scientists to meet and exchange opinions, in the field of anthropology and history, religion, language and culture, literature, education, economics, law, politics, sociology and philosophy and international relations. 

The Congress ended on May 6, 2015. As part of the Congress program, in the great hall of IUS, exhibition of traditional carpets of artist Dr. Ayşegül Koyuncu Okca was presented as well.
