On Monday, June 29, 2015, European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina with support of the Brčko Government District organized a "European Day in BiH", in Brčko. During the event, representatives of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) received a prestigious award in the field of education, for the category - regional recognition of the Western Balkans. Many companies and individuals received awards for their contribution on bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the European integration path.
The event was attended by many political representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the countries of Europe, successful businessmen and entrepreneurs. The President of the European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Predrag Praštalo, presented the award ''Entrepreneur of the Year in the field of higher education for 2014/2015'' to IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and President of the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo (SEDEF), Hasan Topaloğlu. On this occasion, Rector Oğurlu stressed that this award is recognition of the hard work of this institution that within its campus in Ilidža successfully educates students from 52 countries. On a behalf of the president of the Foundation, the award was given to Deputy Director of the Foundation, Armin Kerić.
This is the second time that European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina awarded the International University of Sarajevo with a prestigious prize. In 2014, IUS received award “European University and employer of the year''. The Ceremony was also attended by: High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Šarović, Deputies Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto and Mladen Bosić, along with other representatives of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both entities and members of the diplomatic corps in BiH.
